Luke 11:14-23

Today at Highland Baptist Church, Pastor Danny Gardner's sermon was from Luke 11:14-23. In this passage Jesus cast out a demon that caused a man to be mute.

Some in the crowd that witnessed this were amazed. Others said Jesus did it through the devil, trying to make Jesus the villain and give them an excuse to justify violence against him. Others wanted more proof that Jesus was who he said he was.

Jesus could have spoken them out of existence, but chose to reason with them. Demons are real and seek to harm us by any means. When we resist the devil with the power of God, the devil will flee. The word of God is our food and the prayer of faith is our breath. When we starve ourselves and suffocate ourselves, we allow the devil into our lives and lose hope for the future.

Only God can give us a better tomorrow.
