Psalm 112:7
"He is not afraid of bad news; his heart is firm, trusting in the LORD."
What a perfect verse for today.
And listen to this verse about the godly woman in Proverbs 31:25
"She looks forward to the future with joy."
God's Word says that joy isn't warranted only by prospects of good news. Even "when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy." James 1:2
Not only can God's people live without fear of the future, but we can actually look forward to the future with a deep, underlying joy. Why? Because our God is completely, wholly, undoubtably, unwaveringly, trustworthy. He is big enough to carry us in times of waiting, in times of uncertainty, in loss, in health crisis, in loneliness, in stress, in times when our burdens seem more than we can carry, in discouragement and out of fear... and in every other season. These songs are songs of trust in our great, trustworthy God.
"So we say with confidence, 'The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid.'" Hebrews 13:6
"I will praise God's name in song and glorify him with thanksgiving." Psalm 69:30
