Today at Highland Baptist Church, Pastor Danny Gardner's sermon was from Luke 9:37-43.
In this passage a man brings his only son to Jesus to heal the boy and rid him of an evil spirit that throws him into fire and water trying to destroy him. The disciples were unable to cure him. Failures in life seem to outnumber the successes.
We have a tendency to learn and obey, but just as quickly we forget and disobey. Nothing shows this more than being a parent. No ones kid's are perfect. If you have kid's that are struggling, you are not alone. This passage shows us how important it is to bring our children to Jesus.
We are not responsible for our kid's soul, but we are responsible for teaching them the truth and modeling that truth in our homes. And as long as a child has praying parents there is hope. Not a single one of us is ever beyond the healing and forgiveness of Jesus.
Jesus healed the young boy spiritually and physically. He then rebuked his disciples for their lack of faith. Faith is not only belief but you must act on that belief.
