Today at Highland Baptist Church, Pastor Sam Porges sermon was from Luke 13:22-30. Jesus is asked how many people will be saved. Jesus answered, not with a number, but tells us to strive to enter through the narrow door. The narrow door is not the popular path that society says is the way. Unfortunately most people are content to believe in what the world says is good, the popular opinion, which is in opposition to the truth of God's word. It doesn't matter how often you attend church, or pray, or read your Bible, if you embrace what the world teaches you are rejecting God's truth. Those are the many who will be cast out into hell. Your faith and love for God should always be growing. J.C. Ryle said it is an awful conclusion that few are saved. There will come a day when it will be too late to repent. This passage, this teaching of Jesus, should make us all desperate to grow in our love and faith in Jesus Christ. Jesus is our goal.
