Today at Highland Baptist Church, Pastor Danny Gardner's sermon was from Luke 12:35-48. In this passage, Jesus warns that we are to always be ready for his return. He tells us to stay dressed for service. We are to always have the armor of God on, ready and willing to share the gospel. We are to keep the lamps lit, not hiding in darkness. We are to stay alert, knowing he will return when least expected. We are to remain faithful, knowing that the faithful will be blessed and the unfaithful will be punished. Our world is in a downward spiral. Less of us live as if we expect his imminent return. The sins we are committing today, abortion, sexual deviance, hatred, are worse than the sins practiced in Sodom and Gomorrah, which God destroyed. How much longer will he allow us to abuse and dishonor his creation? So many are not ready when we need to be the most ready. That Christ will return is clear and unambiguous. Get ready.
